Barclay's Skindivers Paradise awarded Ambassador status

At a ceremony at the Plaza Resort’s Toucan Diving on the Caribbean island of Bonaire family members from Auburn, Maine’s only dive shop, Barclay's Skindivers Paradise were recognized as Ambassadors of the Island of Bonaire. Receiving this honor during their annual visit were Claire Barclay, Tim Barclay, Dennis Poirier, and Chris Barclay for their sustained support to island tourism and its unsurpassed diving. The Bonaire Ambassador program was created by the Tourism Corporation Bonaire with the purpose of recognizing Bonaire’s loyal visitors with an official certificate and the ambassador medal. With this recognition they become official Bonaire ambassadors.

For 14 Years Skindivers has taken dozens of scuba divers, windsurfers and folks seeking a break from the cold to this Southern Caribbean island nation for underwater adventures, sight-seeing, and windsurfing.
For 2016, Skindivers group totaled 38 Divers (and a few non-divers) from around Maine, New England, and as far away as Montana & Colorado.

Grand Caymen

Cosmopolitan Grand Cayman Island is the largest of the three Cayman Islands. Every year, more than a million people get to swim with the fishes in a marine ecosystem located on the southeast coast of Oahu, 10 miles east of Waikiki. Hanauma (or curved bay) Bay is a former volcanic crater that became a protected marine life conservation area in 1967. Since then, it’s become an underwater park for snorkel enthusiasts, swimmers and anyone desiring to see more than 400 species of Hawaiian fishes including Hawaii’s state fish the humuhumunukunukuapua‘a, turtles and other marine life.
