Upon completion of Classroom and Pools sessions, each NAUI Scuba certification student is required to dive five (5) tanks in Open Water (Salt Water and/or Fresh Water) and execute skills for the Instructor to complete the class and receive their certification card. Typically no more than two (2) tanks will be completed on a single day. Open Water Dives are subject to weather, visibility, and tidal considerations, subsequently, location and times of dives are left to the Instructor’s discretion, and are subject to last minute changes. You will be given contact numbers for updates. Dive location will be estimated based on weather forecast and often not determined until 24 hours prior to dive. Typical Open Water Dives will meet Saturday or Sunday mornings at 685 Washington Street, in Auburn @ 7:30am and depart for location by 8:30am. Locations will typically be within a 1-hour drive of Auburn unless otherwise noted. Students are allowed flexibility with scheduling their open water dives. It is the student’s responsibility to follow up with the shop and/or instructors to determine which dives they will participate in. If the student has scheduling conflicts, concessions will be made to coincide with student and instructor availability, please let us know what works for your schedule.. Only a limited number of divers can dive on a particular day. Please reserve early to hold your spot and equipment. |
