 Our NAUI certified Scuba Diver course will teach you everything you need to know to competently scuba dive. 

  NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) is the most widely recognized SCUBA diving certification organization in the World.

Overview

  Barclay’s Skindiver’s Paradise  is a NAUI Platinum Educational Center. Our Scuba Diver 101 NAUI entry-level scuba certification course provides the fundamental knowledge and skills to scuba dive safely, confidently and competently.  

Since 1959, members of the National Association of Underwater Instructors, NAUI Worldwide, have been training people just like you to be the best scuba divers in the world!

 Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are presented an internationally recognized certification card, and are considered competent to dive, with buddy, without supervision, provided the dive activities and the areas dived approximate those of training

                    Classroom

Time in the classroom will be divided between

·        proper assembly and donning of  your Scuba equipment

·        Reviewing, testing, and discussing all Homework materials from the NAUI texts, workbooks, video tape, and audio tape.  

·        Going over questions and preparing for Pool time.

·         Understanding Dive Tables and Dive physiology

Pool Time

  In the pool the class will cover

·        Students swimming capabilities

·        Basics of snorkeling , clearing mask

·        Proper assembly and donning of equipment

·        Achieving Proper buoyancy

·         Numerous dive scenarios including removing and donning equipment under water, emergency, rescue, and Buddy Breathing… to name only a few.

OPEN WATER DIVES

 The student will be required to complete open water dives. Two scuba dives may be made on a single day during the course. All open water training will take place during daylight hours.

 Students will be required to use a compass underwater and exhibit a comprehensive understanding of underwater dive navigation.

Prerequisites

·         Age. Minimum is 15 years

·         Jr Diver min age 12 years*

·          Physicians release form.  Students are required to attain and present a doctor’s approval indicating that the student has no physical ailments or limitations that would present a risk to the student or other divers.  

Equipment Required

    Students will be required to have their own personal items before first pool session. This includes

Snorkel  ~ Mask ~ Fins  ~ Gloves ~ Boots  Skindivers Paradise has package prices for all the equipment you'll need in price ranges to fit any budget.
